In the beautiful Ariege countryside 45 minutes directly south of Toulouse, on the picturesque tourist route (D919) to the High Pyrenees, Andorra and Barcelona, 'Chez Tortue' (Tortoise) is found in the centre of the pretty, historic village of Le Fossat .  A short walk to restaurants, bars, plus shops, a supermarket, swimming pool and sport facilities, Le Fossat is a wonderful location to relax and also a great base to explore the Pyrenees, Toulouse, Carcassonne and Andorra, all within easy reach. 

'Chez Tortue' is an old village house with a pretty mature private garden.  Newly converted as a B&B, the guest accommodation offers large, airy rooms, a private lounge, garden access, and a warm welcome from my friendly dogs Tiffi and Tasca, and of course, the tortoise!  There are 2 bedrooms for guests, with private access and free parking.  The rooms share a modern shower room.

Price: 45 Euros per room/per night including continental breakfast.

Children are very welcome! Toys and games are available.  Extra beds can be provided.

I have lived in the Ariege for over 4 years, running successful gite/chambres d'hotes.  I opened my new venture 'Chez Tortue' in May 2010.  I have a wide range of information & advice on activities, events, fetes, etc.  I can help you arrange exciting outdoor activities or spa days, fishing licences, bike hire or days out with a Qualified Mountain Leader. There are Hoopoes, Bee-Eaters, Egyptian Vultures and Rollers in the immediate local area at the moment.  There is a pretty fishing lake a short walk from Chez Tortue and the local river offers good Trout fishing.  Cycling in the area is very popular.
